Alumni Stadium, College football stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, US
Alumni Stadium is a football stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, with a capacity of 44,500 spectators. At each end zone sit two video boards measuring 19 feet (5.8 meters) high and 54 feet (16.5 meters) wide.
Construction of the stadium began in 1957, replacing the former Alumni Field where games had previously been held at Fenway Park. The new facility gave the university its own modern playing ground for the first time.
The stadium hosts Boston College Eagles football games and has served as the venue for the university's annual commencement ceremonies since 1957. The place brings together student life with major sporting events that shape the rhythm of campus.
The stadium sits about 10 kilometers west of downtown Boston and is accessible by several routes. The Yawkey Athletics Center is located on site, along with a winter practice bubble that operates from December through March.
The video boards use HD display technology featuring 258,000 pixels and 855,000 LEDs on each board. These modern screens rank among the most advanced in sports facility infrastructure.
