Comcast Center, Corporate skyscraper in Center City, Philadelphia, US
The Comcast Center is a skyscraper at 1701 John F Kennedy Boulevard that shapes Philadelphia's skyline with its smooth glass facade and tapered form. The building rises across 57 floors and combines office space with direct access to Suburban Station below.
Construction of this building started in 2005 following multiple design revisions and opened to occupants in June 2008. The project added a significant presence to Center City's skyline.
The building lobby features a 2,000-square-foot LED display called the Comcast Experience, which presents digital art and multimedia content throughout the day.
The building connects directly to Suburban Station through an underground passage, making it easy for visitors and commuters to access. The public space in front offers seating and is walkable from neighboring areas.
The building features an advanced water-saving system that reduces consumption by 40 percent compared to standard office buildings. This efficiency helped it earn green building certifications.
