Jersey Shore, Administrative borough in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, US
Jersey Shore occupies 1.2 square miles along the West Branch Susquehanna River, 15 miles southwest of Williamsport in Pennsylvania.
The settlement, established in 1785 by the Manning family from New Jersey, changed its name from Waynesburg to Jersey Shore due to local rivalries.
The Jersey Shore Steel Company, founded in 1938, continues its industrial production, representing the manufacturing heritage of the Pennsylvania region.
The Jersey Shore Hospital, established in 1911, provides medical services to residents of the borough and surrounding communities in Lycoming County.
Fort Antes, built in 1772 by Colonel John Henry Antes near present-day Jersey Shore, protected settlers during the American Revolutionary War.
