Bushman Steps

Bushman Steps is a stone stairway in West Harlem that connects elevated areas of the neighborhood to the Hudson River waterfront. This constructed pathway allows people to move between the different elevation levels of the area.

The steps were built in the early 1900s as part of New York City's effort to improve public access to the waterfront. This project was part of a broader urban plan to make river areas more reachable for residents.
