Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl, College football stadium in Indianapolis, United States
The Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl is a college football stadium on the Butler University campus in Indianapolis, Indiana, with seating for around 5,600 spectators on its west and east sides. The west side features a brick press box structure between the 30-yard lines, with chairback seats in the lower section and a press and observation deck above.
The stadium opened in 1928 as a larger sports venue and went through several changes over the decades, including a theater addition built in 1955. That addition was removed in the early 2000s, and the venue was later renamed in honor of a major donor couple.
The bowl serves as the home field for Butler University Bulldogs football and soccer, drawing students, alumni and families on game days. The setting feels closely tied to campus life, with the crowd made up mostly of people connected to the university.
The stadium sits on the Butler University campus and can be reached on foot from nearby parking areas and public transit stops. Most events take place during the fall season, which is the busiest time of the sports calendar here.
During the 2010 renovation, around 145,000 bricks from a local manufacturer were used to rebuild the main structure. That same project also introduced dedicated hospitality spaces designed specifically for game day visitors.
