Architect Frank Shaver Allen designed this Episcopal church at age 24, with construction completed between 1884 and 1885 using local Joliet limestone.
The church building served as a central religious institution for the Episcopal congregation of Joliet from 1885 until its closure in 2004.
Located at 75 West Van Buren Street, the church building measured 120 by 60 feet and included a chapel of 50 by 40 feet.
The interior featured peaked aisles constructed from red oak strips, with intricately carved altar and pews reflecting 19th-century craftsmanship.
