Daredevil Falls

Daredevil Falls is a water ride at Dollywood where boats carry visitors through a recreation of an old logging settlement complete with bears and equipment scattered throughout the woods. The journey concludes with a steep drop that sends the boat downward dramatically.

This attraction opened in 1998 and replaced an earlier water ride called Flooded Mine. It was designed by a company specializing in water ride construction based in the northeastern United States.

The ride recreates the environment of Lost River, a logging community where visitors experience the daily challenges of wilderness exploration and timber work.

Visitors must meet a minimum height requirement to ride, and the boat holds eight passengers seated across four rows without safety harnesses. Plan to get wet, as the ride involves water throughout the journey.

The boat accelerates to high speed during the final plunge, creating a thrilling moment that many riders find more intense than expected. This burst of speed comes from the gravitational force of the water dropping away beneath the vessel.
