Mystery Mine

Mystery Mine is a steel roller coaster at Dollywood featuring a track that winds through a mine-themed setting with steep drops and high-speed turns throughout its course. The route passes through thematically designed areas with industrial elements and dark passages.

The coaster opened in 2007 and represented the park's largest investment project at that time. The project marked an important moment in Dollywood's expansion.

The ride's theme draws from Tennessee's mining heritage through design choices like vintage equipment and mine shaft passages. These elements give visitors a sense of how mining shaped life in the region.

Riders must be at least 48 inches (122 cm) tall and wear over-the-shoulder restraints for safety. It helps to check weather conditions before visiting, as enclosed dark sections can affect how you experience the ride.

The ride features two separate lift hills at different heights that plunge into complete darkness with sharp drops. This interplay between light and sudden darkness creates surprising moments during the ride.
