Dollywood's Splash Country

Dollywood's Splash Country is a water park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, offering slides, wave pools, and splash zones across more than 35 attractions. The layout spreads over sloped and flat terrain, with swimming areas separated by walkways and planted zones.

The water park opened in 2001 as an addition to the existing theme park and quickly became a standalone summer destination. Over the first years, additional slides and pool areas were added gradually, expanding what visitors could experience.

Families gather under shade structures between slides, treating the grounds as shared meeting spots where groups reconnect throughout the day. The naming follows Appalachian imagery, connecting water fun to the surrounding mountain landscape.

Lifeguards watch all zones, while visitors can rent chairs and lockers near the main entrances. Sun protection and closed-toe shoes make the visit easier, as many paths cross warm surfaces.

A wave pool generates swells nearly six feet (1.8 meters) high, bringing ocean rhythm to the mountains. The pool cycles between calm and motion, letting swimmers and children experience both stillness and rolling water.
