Wild Eagle, Wing roller coaster at Dollywood, Tennessee, United States
Wild Eagle is a roller coaster at Dollywood in Tennessee with seats mounted on the sides of the track rather than above it. The route runs 953 meters (3,127 feet) with four inversions and reaches a height of 64 meters (210 feet).
The ride opened in March 2012 and was the first of its kind in the United States. It later received an award at the Golden Ticket Awards for its construction.
The name and design reference the bald eagles that live in the mountains around the park. The seating arrangement gives riders the sense of gliding over trees and rocks like these birds do.
Riders must be at least 127 centimeters (50 inches) tall and no taller than 198 centimeters (78 inches). The safety restraints over the shoulders close automatically and are checked by staff.
The track runs between the two rows of seats, leaving riders' feet and heads hanging freely in the air. This layout allows the outer seats to pass closer to trees and rocks.
