Des Moines City Hall

Des Moines City Hall is a three-story building featuring classical design elements including tall columns and decorative details across its exterior walls. Limestone cladding covers the outer surfaces while interior spaces showcase marble floors and oak woodwork throughout.

This building was constructed between 1909 and 1910, replacing an earlier 1882 structure that no longer met the city's expanding needs. The new construction reflected Des Moines' rapid growth during the early 1900s.
