The Des Moines Civic Center is a modern performance venue in downtown Des Moines with a large auditorium seating approximately 2,700 people. Every seat in the hall offers clear views of the stage and the sound system is designed to work well throughout the space.
The venue opened in 1979 and grew into a major center for hosting Broadway shows and touring productions. Over the decades, it has become an important stop for national performance companies visiting the region.
The facility organizes the Applause Series, allowing more than 50,000 students to experience live performances at reduced prices through community support.
