Little Lafatscher, Alpine summit in Tyrol, Austria
Little Lafatscher is a mountain summit in the Karwendel range reaching approximately 2,636 meters (8,648 feet) in elevation. It features steep rock faces and distinctive limestone formations that define its appearance.
The northeast dihedral route was first climbed in 1932, marking a major milestone in the region's technical climbing development. This achievement drew more mountaineers to the peak and shaped the climbing history of the Karwendel.
The mountain draws climbers interested in traditional alpine exploration and local mountaineering heritage. Generations of guides have maintained the routes and shared stories of their ascents with visitors.
Access requires planning since vehicles are restricted in Halltal, with shuttle services available only during certain seasons. Visitors should check operating times for these shuttles and arrange transportation in advance to reach the trailhead.
Despite its appeal to serious climbers, the summit remains less crowded than other Karwendel peaks. Visitors can enjoy clear views of surrounding ridges without encountering large groups of other mountaineers.
