Weltmuseum Wien

The Weltmuseum Wien is located in the Hofburg Palace and displays around 400,000 objects from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Pacific region. The collection includes artworks, ancient pieces, photographs, and written records representing different cultures.

The museum began in 1876 as a collection of ethnographical objects and was at first part of a larger institution. In the 20th century, it became independent and moved to its current location in the Hofburg Palace.
