The Wasserbehälter Wienerberg administrative building stands as a reinforced concrete structure within original walls, maintaining historical architectural elements from 1899.
Constructed in 1873 and expanded until 1895, this reservoir initially stored 33 million liters of water before increasing to 42 million liters after 2010 renovations.
The water facility represents a cornerstone of Vienna's infrastructure development, supplying spring water from the Lower Austrian and Styrian Alps to multiple districts.
Located at Windtenstraße 1, the facility supplies water to the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 9th districts, plus sections of the 7th and 8th districts.
The renovation process maintained continuous water supply by alternating between chambers, allowing one section to operate while the other underwent construction.
