Tour Atlas, Apartment building in Droixhe district, Liège, Belgium.

Tour Atlas is a residential tower in Liège that dominates the Droixhe neighborhood with its square footprint and vertically organized design. The building features 600 enclosed balconies distributed across 28 floors, creating a distinctive pattern along its entire facade.

The tower was designed in 1978 by the EGAU architectural group and held the title of Liège's tallest building for many years. This status changed in 2014 when another residential tower was completed.

The building's name comes from the nearby Atlas Bridge, which references a tugboat that operated in the region during the First World War. This naming connects the tower to the city's river transport history and its waterway heritage.

The tower is easy to locate at the intersection of Avenue Georges Truffaut and Avenue de Lille. Keep in mind that it is a private residential building, so access to the interior is restricted.

The tower has remained a defining landmark in Liège's skyline for over 40 years, representing the architectural language of its era. Its angular, modular design with enclosed balconies exemplifies the Brutalism of the 1970s in a distinctive way.
