Almoradí, municipality of Spain

Almoradí is a small municipality in the Vega Baja del Segura, a fertile region in Alicante province. The center is marked by the San Andrés Church, built between 1829 and 1861, with two towers and a statue of Saint Andrew. Around the main square sit other landmarks like the Casino and Teatro Cortés, a theater built over a century ago that still hosts performances.

Almoradí was devastated by a major earthquake in 1829 that destroyed most older structures in the town. What stands today was rebuilt afterward, with the San Andrés Church serving as the focal point of reconstruction, completed by 1861.

The name Almoradí comes from Arabic, reflecting the region's ancient past. The straight streets and traditional buildings show how residents have lived here for generations, with customs still passed down through families.

The town's straight streets are easy to explore on foot, with the main square serving as a natural gathering point for orientation. Most key sites can be reached by walking, making the town manageable for a casual stroll without needing transportation.

The Ruta del Agua is a walking trail that passes old irrigation canals and the chimney of a former ceramics factory, revealing how water management and local industry shaped the area's past. This route shows a side of the town's history that many visitors miss.
