The Hospital de la Santa Caridad features ornate baroque architecture with a decorated facade containing three levels of moldings, columns, tiles, and statue niches.
Miguel de Mañara established this institution in 1682, transforming the former dockyards constructed by Alfonso X into a facility dedicated to caring for ill people.
The hospital church houses exceptional artworks by Pedro Roldán, Murillo, and Valdés Leal, including paintings depicting life, death, and acts of compassion.
Located at Calle Temprado 3, the hospital museum opens Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with regular admission costing 8 euros.
The facility maintains its original charitable mission by providing care for elderly residents while simultaneously functioning as a public museum of baroque art.
