Parauta, Mountain municipality in Serranía de Ronda, Spain
The municipality extends across 4,450 hectares of mountainous terrain at 799 meters elevation, featuring narrow streets and traditional whitewashed houses against green landscapes.
After the Granada War, the Catholic Monarchs designated Parauta as royal territory, leading to repopulation by Christians mainly from Cadiz and Seville.
The town maintains its agricultural heritage through annual celebrations, including the November Rabbit Festival where locals prepare traditional rice dishes with locally sourced ingredients.
