Museu de Belles Arts de València, Art museum in Valencia, Spain.
The Museum of Fine Arts Valencia is housed in the San Pius V Palace, distinguished by a blue dome, two towers, and ornamental details throughout its exterior. The building contains multiple galleries displaying paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects spanning different periods.
The building was constructed in 1683 initially as a seminary and priest training facility. It later served as a military academy, charity center, and army warehouse before being converted to an art museum in 1946.
The museum displays works that reflect the relationship between the church and art across several centuries. Many paintings originally came from religious buildings and tell the story of art's role in Valencia's spiritual life.
The museum is located near Alameda metro station and is open Tuesday through Sunday. Entry is free for all visitors.
The Renaissance courtyard of Ambassador Vich is one of Spain's most significant architectural spaces from the 16th century. This quiet, column-lined area offers a contrast to the art galleries and reveals the original splendor of the palace.

Valencia shows its history through the ages, from Roman ruins hidden beneath the Place de la Vierge to the modern buildings of the City of Arts and Sciences. The old town keeps gates from the 15th century like the Torres de Quart, gothic churches with baroque frescos, and the Silk Exchange with its twisted columns that recall the town’s trading past. The Central Market, open since 1928, still has hundreds of stalls where local products are sold. The city is built around the old riverbed of the Turia, turned into a park that connects the older neighborhoods with the new areas. Beaches with soft sand are just a few minutes from the city center along the Mediterranean. The Fine Arts Museum has Spanish paintings from the 14th to the 20th century, while the Oceanographic displays thousands of sea creatures in its underwater towers. Between Gothic cathedrals and modern buildings, Valencia invites visitors to walk its streets and see how old and new parts of the city sit side by side.
