Jardins del Real de València, Historic urban park in La Saïdia district, Valencia, Spain.
Jardins del Real de València is a large park in a central district that spans several hectares and features palm-lined paths, mature trees, sculptures, and fountains throughout. The grounds are laid out with different walking areas and rest spaces.
The site was once home to a royal palace before being converted into a tree nursery for the city. This transformation took place in the early 20th century and fundamentally changed how the land was used.
The gardens were long known as Viveros because plants were grown here for the city. This name stayed in people's memory and many visitors still use it today.
The park is easily reached on foot and has wide, level paths suitable for most visitors. The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon when it's cooler and less crowded.
Several times a year the central esplanade transforms into a public venue for fairs and celebrations like the book and art shows. This dual use shows how the park serves different purposes for the city.
