The museum building features an exterior facade with 3,351 glass panels in 37 colors, supported by 500 iron beams across its structure.
The institution opened its doors on April 1, 2005, after three years of construction, under the supervision of architects Emilio Tuñón Álvarez and Luis Moreno Mansilla.
The museum collection concentrates on artworks created between 1992 and 2012, representing contemporary artists through temporary exhibitions and permanent displays.
Visitors can explore the museum Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, with extended evening hours during weekends until 21:00.
The glass mosaic on the main facade reproduces a digital interpretation of The Falconer, a 13th-century stained-glass window from León Cathedral.
