The building spans three floors with a total area of 9,000 square meters (96,875 square feet), containing exhibition spaces and administrative offices in distinct architectural volumes.
The building was designed by the architectural firm Mansilla+Tuñón and received the Spanish Architecture Award in 2003 for its innovative design. This project marked an important addition to León's cultural infrastructure during the early 2000s.
The venue serves as a gathering place where locals attend concerts, theater productions, and cultural events throughout the year. Its adaptable layout reflects how the space responds to different artistic needs and audience preferences.
The building is well organized with distinct areas for performances, exhibitions, and administration spread across multiple levels. Visitors can easily navigate between different functional zones and access exhibition spaces when available.
The exterior features Roman travertine cladding combined with white concrete elements and carefully designed openings of varying sizes that filter natural light throughout the interior. This interplay of materials and light creates a distinctive connection between the building's outside and inside spaces.
