The Iglesia de San Francisco de Asís features three naves with Corinthian capitals and displays elaborate architectural elements throughout its structure.
Established in 1680, the church originated as a Franciscan convent and developed into the second most important religious building in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The church houses numerous religious artworks, including the revered Señor de las Tribulaciones statue and representations of San Francisco de Asís.
Located in the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the church maintains regular opening hours and welcomes visitors interested in religious heritage.
During the cholera epidemic of 1893, a procession with the Señor de las Tribulaciones image preceded the end of the disease.
