Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Fine arts museum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain
The Municipal Museum of Fine Arts spans fourteen exhibition rooms displaying paintings and sculptures from the sixteenth to twentieth centuries.
Established in 1929 with architect Eladio Laredo's classical design, the museum originated from a municipal initiative to preserve French Revolutionary War flags in 1840.
The exterior walls feature ten bronze busts representing notable Tenerife figures, including Teobaldo Power, Ángel Guimerá, and Juan de Iriarte.
Located behind the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi on José Murphy Street, the museum maintains a collection of works previously held by Madrid's Prado Museum.
The museum houses the significant Tríptico de Nava y Grimón by Flemish painter Pieter Coecke, along with works by Canarian artist Juan de Miranda.
