The stone lighthouse reaches 56 meters into the sky, standing at the edge of Gran Canaria's southern coastline next to the Maspalomas dunes.
Engineer Juan León y Castillo designed this maritime navigation structure in 1890 to guide ships through the waters of the southern Canary Islands.
The structure received recognition as a cultural heritage site under Spanish law, marking its importance in the architectural legacy of Gran Canaria.
