Centre Arqueològic de l'Almoina
Centre Arqueològic de l'Almoina, Archaeological museum in Ciutat Vella, Spain.
The museum spans 2500 square meters underground, displaying Roman, Visigothic, and Islamic architectural remains next to Valencia Cathedral.
Founded in 138 BC as Valentia by consul Decimus Junius Brutus, the site suffered destruction in 75 BC during conflicts between Pompey and Sertorius.
Different sections of the museum reveal the evolution of Valencia through Roman baths, Islamic waterwheel systems, and Christian religious structures.
The museum operates Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a regular admission fee of 2 euros and free entry on Sundays.
Glass floors throughout the museum allow visitors to walk directly above preserved ancient streets, buildings, and water systems from multiple civilizations.
