Plaza de toros de Béjar, Historical bullring in Béjar, Spain
The Plaza de toros de Béjar contains three floors of stone masonry construction and stands as a monument within the Castañar de Béjar region.
Construction of this bullring began in 1711 to generate funds for renovating the Sanctuary of Virgen del Castañar, making it one of Spain's earliest arenas.
The Plaza belongs to the Union of Historic Bullrings, an organization that preserves and promotes traditional Spanish bullfighting venues across the country.
Located 72 kilometers from Salamanca, visitors can reach the bullring by following the A-66 highway and then taking local roads into Béjar.
The structure started as a rectangular arena before modifications transformed it into the circular shape commonly associated with Spanish bullrings.
