Biblioteca y casa-museo de Menéndez Pelayo, Research library and house museum in Santander, Spain
The library building features three rectangular naves with a central elevated section illuminated by large stained glass windows displaying the royal coat of arms.
Upon his death in 1912, scholar Marcelino Menendez Pelayo donated his personal library and residence to the city of Santander through his testament.
The collection includes 42,500 volumes, featuring manuscripts from the Spanish Golden Age and important texts from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The library opens Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 11:30, offering guided tours every thirty minutes for visitors interested in the collection.
The Trojan Chronicle, dating from the late 13th century, stands as one of the most valuable manuscripts in the library's extensive collection.
