Established in 1955, the current building was completed in 2000 following architect Andrés Perea's design, marking a new chapter in the city's literary infrastructure.
The library bears the name of Ánxel Casal, a publisher and mayor of Santiago de Compostela during Spain's Second Republic from 1931 to 1936.
The facility opens Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, providing access to extensive collections.
The building features a glass curtain wall that mirrors the local landscape and implements a compactus mobile shelving system for resource management.
