Catalanes, Rural settlement in Anaga district, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain.
Located at 577 meters above sea level, Catalanes stretches across Valle Grande's slopes with scattered buildings and a central chapel dedicated to San José Obrero.
The settlement received its name from Catalonian settlers who arrived after the Spanish conquest of Tenerife in the fifteenth century.
The community celebrates San José Obrero festivities on May 1st with religious ceremonies and local gatherings integrating traditional Canarian customs.
Access to Catalanes requires following a track from TF-12 highway, with multiple hiking trails available including the marked path Sendero PR-TF 2 Valleseco-Taborno.
The Galería de Catalanes functions as a water supply system for Santa Cruz de Tenerife through its network of historic water galleries.
