Antiguo Convento de Padres Terceros

The Antiguo Convento de Padres Terceros is a baroque monastery organized around two connected cloisters separated by a central passage. The larger courtyard displays rounded arches supported by tuscan columns, creating shaded walkways for daily monastic life.

Founded in 1602 by the Third Order of Saint Francis, this place absorbed the San Juan de Moraniña monastery in 1603. The merger sparked local conflicts but ultimately shaped the complex we see today.

This place houses the Brotherhood of the Last Supper, whose members organize Holy Week processions with sacred images and religious ceremonies that draw crowds from the neighborhood.

This place sits on Calle Sol 8, with access from street level through stairs leading up to the entrance. Visiting times depend on religious activities, so it helps to check ahead before making a trip.

The main staircase, constructed between 1690 and 1697, winds through three stories and displays distinctive andalusian baroque design. From the top, visitors can see balconies above, revealing the craftsmanship typical of that period.
