Hoces de Vegacervera, Natural limestone gorge in León province, Spain
The Torío River cuts through limestone formations creating vertical walls that reach heights of over 100 meters along this natural corridor.
The protected natural space designation was established on May 10, 1991, through Law 08/1991 to preserve the geological formations and local ecosystems.
The area serves as an environmental education center where students learn about geological processes, native flora, and local wildlife species.
Visitors need warm clothing and proper footwear to explore the marked trails and cave systems throughout the 5,260-hectare natural space.
The narrow valley contains underground rivers, natural slides, and cave formations including stalactites and stalagmites in the Valporquero Cave system.
