The Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Regla stands in the Cabo-Llanos district, featuring religious statues from the 18th century including San Lázaro and San Francisco de Asís.
The Cabildo de Tenerife constructed this hermitage in the late 17th century as a chapel for soldiers stationed at the nearby San Juan Castle.
The temple houses a dark-skinned statue of the Virgin, known locally as La Morenita Santacrucera, which serves as the patron saint of Los Llanos district.
The hermitage opens every Sunday morning and holds special Eucharistic celebrations on the eighth day of each month throughout the year.
Every September 8, the brown Virgin processes to the Mercado de Nuestra Señora de África, receiving offerings before returning to her temple.
