Church of John of Barbalos

The Church of John of Barbalos features a single nave with a pointed barrel vault ceiling and three pointed windows in the apse.

The Knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem established this religious structure in 1139, marking the beginning of its long history.

The decorative cornice displays medieval sculptures depicting musicians playing the rabel and drum, along with ornamental hounds and animal heads.

The church provides limited wheelchair access and stands near Calle de los Perdones, a street named after a significant religious gathering.

A 12-foot wooden sculpture called Cristo de la Zarza, made from walnut wood in the 12th century, remains preserved inside the church.
