Palace of San Boal, Salamanca, Renaissance palace near Calle Toro, Salamanca, Spain

The Palace of San Boal is a Renaissance building situated on its own square in Salamanca, featuring ornate entrances and a central courtyard. The facade displays characteristic stone work with arches and medallions typical of the period.

Construction started around 1470 as part of a larger structure connected to the neighboring Arias Corvelle Palace. A marquee later decided to separate the two buildings, giving this one its independent identity.

Today the palace serves as a cultural center hosting international programs that bring people together across different backgrounds. The historic rooms maintain their original character while hosting contemporary exhibitions and events.

The building is located at Plaza de San Boal between Toro and Zamora streets in the city center. Visitors are best served arriving on foot and checking with the nearby tourism office for current visiting times.

An inscription in the courtyard recounts an unusual moment from the past when a church official attempting to remove a ring from a noblewoman accidentally revived her. This account offers a glimpse into the dramatic human moments that took place within these walls.
