The white lighthouse stands at 249 meters above sea level with a two-story building and a lantern room atop a masonry tower.
Engineer Juan de León y Castillo designed this maritime structure in 1865, marking the beginning of its service to guide vessels into the Port of Las Palmas.
The lighthouse represents a lasting symbol of maritime navigation, recognized through a commemorative plaque installed in 2015 to honor 150 years of operation.
The lighthouse emits white light flashes every twenty seconds with a range of 21 nautical miles, using a 400-watt lamp and Fresnel lens system.
Located within a military zone, the lighthouse operates semi-automatically and maintains its position as the highest operational light in Spain.
