El Confital

El Confital is a beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria that combines volcanic rock outcrops with sections of golden sand. The shoreline divides into distinct areas separated by natural rock formations, creating varied conditions along the coast.

The beach was rehabilitated in 2004 when authorities removed illegal structures and built a wooden boardwalk to protect the site. This work marked a turning point in how the place is managed and maintained.

This spot attracts surfers and bodyboarders who come for the consistent waves and exposed position facing the Atlantic. Its role in the local water sports scene has given it a strong presence in the community.

Access comes through a single road from La Isleta, with parking available on a flat area near the shore. Conditions can be windy, so be prepared for changing weather throughout the day.

The site holds Blue Flag certification for meeting environmental standards while remaining a working water sports destination. This recognition is often overlooked by casual visitors despite showing commitment to ecological care.
