La Salvé is a wide sandy beach along the Cantabrian coast that stretches for several kilometers with golden sand and Atlantic waters. The shore is gently sloped and spacious, making it suitable for swimming and various beach activities.
The beach sits beside the medieval town of Laredo, which developed as a trading port during the Middle Ages to protect commerce. Protective walls were built around the settlement to defend against pirate raids.
The Flower Festival in late August transforms the beach into the center of local celebration, with decorated floats moving through town and ending at the waterfront.
The beach offers showers, restrooms, and lifeguards stationed during summer months. Designated zones provide good conditions for water sports like windsurfing and kitesurfing.
From the shore, you can see tree-covered hills rising above the town of Santoña across the water, where kitesurfers navigate the strong winds. This combination of natural landscape and water sports activity creates an energetic setting.
