The palace was built between 1898 and 1901 when mining entrepreneur Camilo Aguirre commissioned architect Victor Beltri to design it. The construction took place during a period of economic growth driven by the region's mining industry.
The ballroom displays neorococó decorations and paintings by artist Cecilio Pla showing spring themes. The artistic details reflect the wealth and refined taste of the family who built it.
