Playa de Benijo

Playa de Benijo is a beach with dark volcanic sand stretching about 300 meters along Tenerife's northern coast. Large rock formations rise dramatically from the water, creating a rugged natural shoreline.

The beach formed through volcanic activity millions of years ago and remains part of the Anaga mountain range's geological legacy. The dark sand composition reflects the region's volcanic origins.

The beach serves as a space where visitors practice natural sunbathing and seek solitude away from crowded tourist zones. This remote location has become a gathering place for those wanting to escape the more developed parts of the island.

Access to the beach involves a steep descent down numerous steps from the parking area, requiring good physical condition. There are no shops, restaurants, or services on site, so bring water and food for your visit.

Two prominent rock pinnacles, Roque Benijo and Roque de la Rapadura, jut from the ocean like natural pillars framing the beach. These distinctive formations become more impressive when viewed from the water at different times of day.
