Paraninfo de la Universidad de Zaragoza
Paraninfo de la Universidad de Zaragoza, Monument and museum building in Plaza de Basilio Paraíso, Spain.
The Paraninfo features a neoclassical historicist design with brick walls, polychrome tiles, and stucco reliefs at the University of Zaragoza main entrance.
Built in 1893 by architect Ricardo Magdalena, this structure replaced university buildings destroyed during the Peninsular War in Zaragoza.
The entrance displays four statues of medical and scientific figures, including Miguel Servet and Ignacio Jordan de Asso, representing educational heritage.
The building opens Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 10 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM, with reduced hours during school vacation periods.
The Natural Sciences Museum inside the Paraninfo offers free admission and maintains the original decor of its historical library.
