Antigua Clínica del Doctor Lozano, Historical medical building on Paseo Sagasta, Zaragoza, Spain

Antigua Clínica del Doctor Lozano is an early 20th century building at the corner of Paseo Sagasta and Calle Mariano de Lagasca, marked by curved balconies and a columned entrance porch. This three-story structure preserves its original facades, staircase, metalwork, woodwork, and decorative details as a protected heritage site.

Architect Felix Navarro Perez designed this building in 1903 for Doctor Ricardo Lozano Monzon as a combined residence and medical clinic. The house served as a functioning medical facility for over a century before later gaining protection as a cultural heritage site.

The building shows how wealthy doctors and merchants lived and worked in the early 1900s, with generous balconies and enclosed sunrooms that marked a comfortable lifestyle. The modernist inscriptions on glass and wood reflect a time when a home and a medical practice shared the same space.

The location sits at a major street corner in the city center and is easy to reach on foot. Since this is a protected heritage building, visitors can view the exterior facades from the street, though the interior is typically not open to the public.

Two semicircular volumes extend from the rear garden side, originally housing an operating room and a chapel for the doctor's use. These additions reveal how specialized the medical spaces were and the personal faith of the household that lived there.
