The Torre del Infantado rises with four levels of masonry walls, featuring corner towers, battlements, and a central courtyard that illuminates interior rooms.
Originally built in the 14th century for the de la Lama family, the tower later became the residence of the Marquis of Santillana and the Duques del Infantado.
The tower houses permanent exhibitions about Beato de Liébana, displaying the largest collection of medieval manuscripts focused on the Apocalypse.
The six-floor structure spans 1,800 square meters and contains exhibition spaces, with guided tours leading visitors through medieval history and architecture.
The central courtyard design distinguishes this tower from other Cantabrian fortresses, incorporating Italian Renaissance elements into its medieval structure.
