Coriscao

Coriscao is a summit in the Picos de Europa reaching 2234 meters on the border between Cantabria and León. The peak offers views across three major mountain massifs within the range and stretches far into the surrounding terrain.

The mountain has long served as a natural boundary between Cantabria and León, marking territorial divisions in northern Spain. Generations of climbers have followed routes to this summit, creating pathways that remain recognizable today.

Local mountaineering groups maintain several marked trails to the summit, preserving traditional hiking routes used by generations of Spanish climbers.

The summit is reached via a trail of around 9 kilometers starting from Collado de Llesba, where parking is available for roughly ten vehicles. The route is marked and accessible at various difficulty levels, so check your fitness and weather conditions before heading out.

From this peak, views extend unobstructed from the Bay of Biscay to the northern Meseta, revealing multiple climate and vegetation zones. This rare vantage point shows how varied the landscapes are despite their geographical closeness.
