Church of Nuestra Señora del Juncal, Irún

The Church of Nuestra Señora del Juncal stands with three naves measuring 45 meters in length, 24 meters in width, and 22 meters in height.

Construction of the current church structure began in the 16th century, incorporating Gothic architectural elements alongside Renaissance and Baroque features.

The main altarpiece, created in 1643 by Bernabé Cordero and Juan de Bazcardo, depicts scenes from the Passion and life of Virgin Mary.

The church received its name from a carved Virgin image discovered in the reeds along the estuary around the year 1400.
