Mipanas, Small village in Naval municipality, Huesca province, Spain.
Mipanas sits at 477 meters altitude along the Cinca River, characterized by rugged terrain and the nearby Peña de Robles mountain range in Huesca province.
Originally an independent municipality with 117 inhabitants in the 19th century, Mipanas was flooded by El Grado reservoir construction and incorporated into Naval in 1970.
The village maintains traditional craftsmanship through local artisans who create custom furniture using recovered wood from centuries-old trees and natural materials from the region.
Access to Mipanas requires traveling through Naval with limited road conditions, and the current population of approximately 20 residents maintains basic agricultural and livestock activities.
The settlement was completely depopulated in the 1960s due to reservoir flooding but was remarkably repopulated by new inhabitants starting in 1986.
