Son Serra de Marina is a beach on the northeast coast of Mallorca with pale sand and a bay framed by pine and juniper forests. The shoreline runs along dunes and stretches between two headlands, with water that shifts in color based on depth and seabed composition.
The area was inhabited in prehistoric times, as shown by archaeological finds of tombs and settlements from Bronze Age and early human periods. These remains suggest the coast was an important living space long before modern settlement.
The beach forms part of Son Real Nature Reserve, where local residents maintain traditional activities amid sand dunes and Mediterranean vegetation.
The beach is accessible from the MA-12 road between Alcudia and Arta, with regular bus service from Can Picafort. It is wise to bring plenty of water and sun protection, as the area offers little shade and limited facilities.
The water displays shifting color patterns from turquoise to deep blue because the seabed alternates between rocky and sandy patches. These variations make it an ideal spot for kitesurfing, with stable and reliable wind conditions.
