Platja de Pals

Platja de Pals is a 3.5-kilometer sandy beach with fine golden sand stretching along the Costa Brava coastline. One side features pine forests and dunes, while the other offers views across to the Medes Islands.

The beach borders the medieval town of Pals, which developed during the Middle Ages and preserves its original stone buildings and defensive towers. This long connection between coastline and settlement has shaped the region for centuries.

The beach is deeply connected to the fishing traditions of the area, where local practices still shape daily rhythms. Agricultural fields near the coast blend with maritime customs that define the region.

The beach provides showers, toilets, and lifeguard services during summer months. Parking is available in several areas along the beach throughout the swimming season.

The northern section borders protected wetlands called Basses d'en Coll, where various bird species nest among coastal plants. This ecological setting makes the area much more than just a swimming spot.
