Golf Platja de Pals, Golf course in Pals, Spain.
Golf Platja de Pals is an 18-hole course on the Costa Brava designed by F.W. Hawtree with narrow fairways, dense pine forests, and sea views. The layout works with natural terrain and coastal features to create the playing experience.
The course opened in 1966 and gained recognition in 1972 when it hosted the first Spanish Open of the PGA European Tour on the Costa Brava. This tournament established the venue as a major golfing destination in Spain.
The course blends British golf traditions with the Catalan landscape, where ancient pine trees and Mediterranean plants shape the experience. Players encounter this mix throughout their round as nature frames each hole.
The facility caters to players of all skill levels and provides club rentals and electric carts for the round. The terrain varies in elevation, so comfortable shoes are recommended for walking the course.
The course undergoes a striking change at hole 13, where tightly bordered fairways give way to open greens closer to the Mediterranean coast. This shift marks a memorable turning point in the round.
